The Area

Dolphin Square is the main centre of Altinkum, and this is where you will find many fascinating restaurants, bars and shops. Try the excellent local meat and seafood or the many international restaurants – all at prices well below those around the Mediterranean coastline. For the energetic, spend a day trying the many water sports on offer and finish by enjoying the lively nightlife scene. Shopaholics will love the many market stalls and bazaar traders.
Each night, the promenade comes alive with friendly local Turkish families strolling up and down to the sounds of live Turkish music. In an area specially designated for tourist development by the Turkish government, extensive upgrading of local infrastructure is already underway. Work has commenced on the new marina which is a $50million project due for completion in 2009. The new marina includes berths for 650 boats and various exclusive facilities which will transform the future of this area and make Didim the number one tourist destination on the Aegean coast. Plans have also been proposed for a new golf course.
